Speaking on the KAFA Sports YouTube channel, Belözoğlu singled out referee Cihan Aydın, asserting that Aydın acted with clear intent. "He did it, he did it deliberately. I am sure of it," Belözoğlu declared, suggesting a personal vendetta or bias against him, the club, or past players.

Belözoğlu expanded his criticism to the broader refereeing system, implying that internal conflicts and biases exist among officials. He pointed to interactions with fourth officials as evidence, suggesting a lack of unity and professionalism within the refereeing body.
