Romanian football club CFR Cluj is on the verge of a significant leadership change as owner Ioan Varga has announced his decision to step back from direct club management. Varga intends to hand over executive responsibilities to a Swiss businessman, Hendrik Klein, while continuing to provide necessary financial backing.

Varga stated his desire to "take a step back, to see my family!" He explained that he no longer wishes to manage the day-to-day activities of the club, citing frustration with media criticism over his financial investments. "I put my own money in, and it's not pleasant to see my family say, 'Are you crazy, putting more money in?'" Varga remarked, adding that he would provide funds for the current year but expects others to manage thereafter.

Hendrik Klein, an entrepreneur from Zurich, is set to assume the role of president. Klein has previous experience with FC Locarno, a club in the lower tiers of Swiss football. Varga described Klein as a "serious man who knows the game" and mentioned that Klein had been involved in past discussions that have now materialized into this agreement. Klein was reportedly already in Cluj and finalizing the details.
