ENEL activates emergency plan for incoming storm system

ENEL Distribution has activated its emergency plan and significantly reinforced its technical, operational, and customer service resources in anticipation of a frontal system expected to hit the Metropolitan Region.

The company stated it will increase its available field resources up to nine times compared to a normal day and boost its customer service capacity by 20 times. To manage potential contingencies, ENEL has set up WhatsApp line +56 9 9444 7606 and Call Center numbers 600 696 0000 and 800 800 696.

ENEL also advised the public to stay clear of fallen power lines, damaged poles, or any potentially energized electrical installations, urging them to report such situations immediately through official channels and avoid intervention. As part of its "Plan Invierno 2026," the company has integrated 460 new telecontrol devices, adding to the 3,600 already operational. This plan also includes installing smart sensors, 16 new feeders, inspecting over 1,400 kilometers of network via drones, and performing 82,000 preventive tree trimmings in coordination with municipalities throughout the year.

Furthermore, ENEL is monitoring the continuity of supply for its registered electro-dependent customers. Protocols for priority attention are reinforced for these cases, with exclusive contact channels and backup equipment like batteries and generators available to manage prioritized cases during potential supply interruptions.
