England sets Lord's ODI record in series-clinching win over India

England achieved a record-breaking 387-3 at Lord's, the highest one-day international total ever recorded at the iconic venue, to defeat India by 27 runs and clinch the three-match series 2-1. The exceptional batting performance set a new benchmark for ODI cricket at the Home of Cricket.

Opener Ben Duckett was the star of England's innings, smashing 141 off 135 balls, the highest individual men's ODI score at Lord's. He shared a massive 192-run opening stand with Jacob Bethell, who fell just short of a century at 91. Joe Root continued his remarkable run of form, remaining unbeaten on 74 from 48 deliveries, while captain Jos Buttler provided a late flourish with an unbeaten 41 off 13 balls.

Chasing what would have been the second-highest successful target in ODI history, India remained competitive thanks to a brilliant 138 from veteran opener Rohit Sharma. Sharma, in what is rumored to be his final series, hit 17 fours and five sixes in his 111-ball innings. He built a crucial 147-run partnership with Shubman Gill, who contributed 77 before being dismissed.

However, Rohit Sharma's dismissal in the 38th over proved to be the turning point. Despite Virat Kohli's valiant effort of 74, India's middle and lower order collapsed against disciplined bowling, particularly from Sam Curran, who took 4-75. India ultimately finished at 360-7, falling short of England's imposing total and sealing the series victory for the hosts.
