ENHYPEN earns first No. 1 on Billboard 200, six years after debut

ENHYPEN has reached the top of the Billboard 200 for the first time, six years after the South Korean boy group made its debut.

Billboard’s preview said the group’s eighth mini-album, “THE SIN: BLISS,” will rank No. 1 on the chart dated next month’s fifth. It recorded 98,000 album units during the tracking period. Billboard calculates the figure by combining traditional album sales with equivalent units from streaming and digital downloads.

The achievement extends ENHYPEN’s steady rise on the U.S. album chart. Its first entry, “BORDER: CARNIVAL,” reached No. 18. The group later placed “DARK BLOOD” and “ORANGE BLOOD” at No. 4, followed by “DESIRE: UNLEASH” at No. 3. Its second studio album, “ROMANCE: UNTOLD,” and seventh mini-album, “THE SIN: VANISH,” both reached No. 2 before the latest release took the top spot.

ENHYPEN is the sixth K-pop boy group to lead the Billboard 200, after BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, ATEEZ and TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Among K-pop girl groups, BLACKPINK, NewJeans, TWICE and KATSEYE have also topped the chart.

The group formed through Mnet’s audition program “I-LAND” in 2020. It currently promotes with six members: Jungwon, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki.
