Enner Valencia officially becomes Boca Juniors player

Ecuadorian forward Enner Valencia is poised to become a new player for Boca Juniors, signing an 18-month contract with the Argentine club. This move will be the eighth club in the 16-year professional career of the Ecuadorian striker.

Valencia is scheduled to arrive in Buenos Aires on the afternoon of Friday, August 7, 2026, to finalize the details of his agreement with Boca Juniors. He is expected to sign a contract that will keep him with the club until December 2027. Medical examinations are planned for Saturday, August 8, which is a prerequisite for signing the contract.

Boca Juniors, through its official communication channel 'Esto es Boca,' confirmed the impending transfer. The club has already secured three other signings for the current semester: Uruguayan right-back Leandro Lozano, and Colombian goalkeeper Álvaro Montero and forward Sebastián Villa.

With Valencia's arrival imminent, Boca Juniors' management, led by Juan Román Riquelme, is reportedly targeting Argentine forward Ezequiel Ávila, 32, who has previously played for clubs like Betis and Osasuna in Spain, as well as San Lorenzo and Tiro Federal in Argentina.
