Enugu LGA chairman assures governor of support for APC candidate in by-election

Ugo Ferdinand Ukwueze, Chairman of Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area in Enugu State, has formally pledged the LGA's strong backing for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Ikeje Asogwa, in the upcoming Enugu North Senatorial District by-election. The assurance was given to Governor Peter Mbah during the grand finale of the APC senatorial campaign on Wednesday, ahead of Saturday's election.

In my remarks, I expressed profound appreciation to our leader, Governor Peter Ndubuisi Mbah for his demonstration of deep commitment to equity, justice and fairness in leadership by ensuring that another competent son of Igbo-Eze South LGA, Chief Ikeje Asogwa, now has the opportunity to complete the tenure of our late brother, Distinguished Senator Okey Ezea, who served diligently until his passing.

Ukwueze expressed deep gratitude to Governor Mbah for ensuring that Chief Ikeje Asogwa, a competent son of Igbo-Eze South LGA, has the opportunity to complete the term of the late Senator Okey Ezea. He stated that the people of Igbo-Eze South understand and appreciate this gesture, and are prepared to demonstrate their gratitude through overwhelming support for Asogwa in the by-election.

I assured His Excellency that the people of Igbo-Eze South fully understand and appreciate this gesture. Consequently, we are prepared to demonstrate our gratitude through overwhelming support for Chief Ikeje Asogwa in the forthcoming senatorial by-election.

Beyond the immediate election, Ukwueze affirmed the LGA's resolute commitment to the progressive vision championed by Governor Mbah and the APC. He indicated that the community is determined to deliver massive support for the governor and all APC candidates in the 2027 general elections.

More than a government facility, the Secretariat Complex symbolises our resolve to strengthen governance institutions, improve the working environment for public servants and create a conducive atmosphere for effective service to the people of Igbo-Eze South.

In addition to the political campaign, Governor Mbah also commissioned the newly redesigned and reconstructed Igbo-Eze South Local Government Secretariat Complex. Ukwueze described the facility as more than just a government building, but a symbol of the administration's resolve to strengthen governance institutions, improve the working environment for public servants, and foster effective service delivery to the people of Igbo-Eze South. He thanked the residents for their continued support and cooperation.
