Enugu State Forest Guard issues standing operational order

The Enugu State Forest Guard has introduced comprehensive new standards for its officers, focusing on dress code, operational readiness, and professional appearance. Commander Akinbayo Olasoji announced the "Headquarters Standing Operational Order No. 178/2026" in Enugu, emphasizing its role in building a disciplined and intelligence-driven security force.

These reforms are designed to strengthen discipline, command, and operational professionalism, projecting a modern image for the Corps. As the Forest Guard's activities gain public visibility, Olasoji noted the necessity of uniform standards that reflect expected professionalism and values. The order details approved uniforms, operational wear for field deployments, accoutrements, and grooming standards. It also establishes special dress codes for administrative and provost units to ensure uniformity and easy identification.

As the operational activities of the Forest Guard continue to receive increasing public visibility through field operations, community engagements, television, radio, newspapers, and digital media platforms, it has become imperative to institutionalize uniform standards that reflect the discipline, professionalism, and values expected of a modern government security organisation.

Strict compliance is mandated, with prohibitions against unauthorized uniforms, civilian attire during duty, and the use of improvised weapons. Headquarters-approved items are exclusively permitted. Directors and commanders are tasked with regular inspections before official duties, patrols, and media engagements.
