Enugu varsity suspends three law students for exam malpractice

The management of Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUSTECH) has suspended three undergraduate law students for two academic years for engaging in examination malpractice. The suspension, effective June 25, 2026, will continue until June 24, 2028, according to memos issued by the university Registrar, Mr. Ambrose Ugwu.

The students identified are Isong Ugwu, Gad Nwosu, and Roseline Nnamani. They have been directed to return all university property in their possession to their respective Heads of Department and leave the campus immediately. The decision was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Aloysius-Michaels Okolie, based on recommendations from the Senate Examinations Malpractice Committee.

Both the sponsors of the suspended students and the National Universities Commission have been notified of the university's decision. The affected students will need to formally apply for readmission upon the expiration of their suspension in June 2028. In a separate case, another law student, Goodluck Iwuamadi, was exonerated from an allegation of examination malpractice following a recommendation from the same committee.
