Eom Ji-sung Scores and Assists Again as Swansea Beat Watford 2-0

Eom Ji-sung is building momentum before the Asian Games. The Swansea City forward scored once and set up another goal in a 2-0 home win over Watford, recording a goal and an assist for the second straight match.

Eom opened the scoring in the eighth minute at Swansea.com Stadium, turning Adam Idah’s pass into a right-footed shot. In the 29th minute, he broke forward with a sharp pass that sent Idah through for Swansea’s second goal.

The match was Eom’s first full 90-minute appearance of the season. He now has two goals and two assists in five official matches during the 2026-27 campaign, following a goal and assist in Swansea’s 3-0 away victory over Derby County in the previous round.

Eom, who played at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America, has been selected as one of three wild-card players for South Korea’s team at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The other two are Yang Hyun-jun of Celtic and Lee Ki-hyuk of Gangwon.

Coach Lee Min-sung initially called up 14 domestic-based players on Sept. 1. The team is scheduled to leave South Korea on Sept. 6 and play Qatar in its first match on Sept. 15.
