EPL: Brighton sign Nigerian winger Femi Azeez on four-year deal

Femi Azeez’s rise from non-league football to the Premier League has taken another step forward after Brighton & Hove Albion signed the Nigerian winger from Millwall on a four-year contract.

The transfer, completed for an undisclosed fee, went through after both clubs submitted a deal sheet before the initial 11 p.m. deadline. That extended the transfer window until 1 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

Azeez, 25, enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign with Millwall and played a key role in the club’s push for the Championship playoffs. He made 77 appearances, scored 15 goals and supplied 13 assists. His performances earned him places in the PFA and EFL Championship Teams of the Season.

Azeez came through Watford’s youth setup before playing for non-league Northwood, Wealdstone and Hanwell Town. He moved to Reading in 2019 and joined Millwall in 2024. His international career has also started strongly. On his senior debut for Nigeria in June, he scored both goals in a 2-0 win over Zimbabwe, then assisted in a 3-0 victory over Jamaica four days later.
