Erick Pulgar suffers injury during Flamengo’s match against Mirassol

Erick Pulgar’s good day at Flamengo ended with an injury. The Chilean midfielder left Wednesday’s Brasileirao match against Mirassol at Maracana after feeling discomfort in his right leg.

Pulgar had been playing well and helped launch the counterattack that produced Flamengo’s first goal, scored by Jorge Carrascal. Around the half-hour mark, however, he felt the problem and was replaced by Everton Araújo in the 31st minute.

Pulgar managed to leave the field under his own power. He touched his right leg but did not leave limping, according to the match account.

The injury cast a shadow over what had otherwise been a positive day for the midfielder. Earlier that day, Flamengo had announced that it had renewed his contract through 2029.
