Ernesto Laguardia reveals meeting David Lynch before 'Dune' casting

During a conversation among contestants on "La casa de los famosos México," actor Ernesto Laguardia recounted a memorable encounter with acclaimed director David Lynch. Laguardia revealed that he had a chance meeting with Lynch years ago, prior to auditioning for Lynch's 1980s film adaptation of "Dune," which was filmed in Mexico.

At the time, Laguardia was not yet pursuing an acting career and worked at a bank. He explained that he ended up at the casting call for "Dune" almost by accident. While searching for the audition location at the Studios Churubusco, he stopped at a small restaurant.

It was there that Laguardia met Lynch. He described striking up a conversation with an American man at the restaurant, discussing various topics including life and cinema. Laguardia only realized the identity of his companion when the man introduced himself as the director, David Lynch.

Laguardia admitted feeling embarrassed by the situation but recalled that Lynch was gracious and even offered him a role in the film. Although his part was secondary, Laguardia had the opportunity to share the screen with notable actors such as Sting, Kyle MacLachlan, and Patrick Stewart.
