Estonia's volleyball team loses to Romania in preparation match

Estonia's men's volleyball team suffered a 0:3 defeat against Romania in their first control match as they prepare for the upcoming European Championships. The game took place in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Romania secured the first set with a score of 25:18. Despite brief leads by Estonia in the second set, Romania's strong blocking and consistent attacks allowed them to win the set 25:22. The third set also saw Romania pull ahead, ultimately winning 25:21 after a close contest.

A fourth set was played by agreement, which Romania also won 25:21. Head coach Alar Rikberg utilized 12 players in the match, including players returning from injury like Albert Hurt and Karli Allik. However, key players Andri Aganits, Renee Teppan, Robert Täht, and Märt Tammearu did not play.

The Estonian team will face Romania again on Saturday and Sunday. Last week, Estonia defeated Sweden 3:2 and 3:1 in their initial control matches. They are scheduled to compete in a tournament in Tallinn from September 3-5 against Latvia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
