Estonia to double shooting range availability

Estonia's Interior Ministry is set to improve opportunities for firearm users to practice shooting safely and accessibly. Interior Minister Igor Taro has sent a draft regulation for approval that aims to enhance conditions for sports shooters, hunters, and other licensed firearm owners.

Taro stated that previous firearm policies in Estonia have overly focused on the security risks associated with weapons. The new initiative seeks to rebalance this perspective, emphasizing the importance of marksmanship as a component of national defense rather than solely viewing firearms as a threat to internal security.

The proposed regulation intends to increase the number of available shooting ranges and ensure they meet safety standards. This move is expected to benefit a broader community of firearm users, promoting responsible ownership and skill development.
