Estonians start home top tournament strongly

Estonian golfers made a promising start at the HotelPlanner Tour's home stage, with several players achieving solid scores on the opening day. Kevin Christopher Jegers and Ralf Johan Kivi both carded 69, positioning themselves well in the early stages of the tournament.

Mattias Varjun, another Estonian competitor, recorded a score of 72. He expressed satisfaction with his performance, noting that only two bogeys over the round was a positive outcome. Varjun particularly highlighted a strong front nine and acknowledged minor errors on specific holes, but felt his overall game showed much promise.

Carl Hellat and 18-year-old debutant Hart Oskar Aoveer both finished their rounds with a score of 73. The day's best performance belonged to Germany's Marc Hammer, who shot an impressive 64. Richard Teder was forced to withdraw from the tournament due to food poisoning.

The cut will be made after Friday's play, with the top 60 players and ties advancing to the weekend. Currently, the cut line stands at -2. The tournament continues with anticipation for further strong performances from the local contingent.

Of course, one must be satisfied with the result. Making only two bogeys during the day is not bad. The first nine holes went especially well. On the first hole, I had to take a penalty drop after an unsuccessful second shot, and on the fourth hole, I unfortunately missed a short putt and got a bogey on three putts. Overall, there was a lot of positive in my game today.
