Ethiopian Kejelcha reclaims half marathon world record

Ethiopian athlete Yomif Kejelcha has once again claimed the half marathon world record, setting a blistering pace in Buenos Aires. The 29-year-old clocked an astonishing time of 56 minutes and 51 seconds, eclipsing the previous mark of 57 minutes and 20 seconds.

This remarkable achievement sees Kejelcha reclaim the title he briefly lost to Uganda's Jacob Kiplimo. Kiplimo had set the prior record of 57:20 in Lisbon in March, surpassing Kejelcha's then-standing record. Both of these new times are now awaiting official ratification by the relevant athletic bodies.
