A House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council said it had found about 58 bank accounts allegedly linked to the council’s detained director-general, Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi. The committee also cited an alleged 400 million naira transaction involving fraudulent representations. It said no lawful instrument established the council and described related appointment documents as fabricated.

Uber announced that it would wind down its Nigerian operations effective September 2, 2026. Drivers would no longer receive trip requests through the app from that date. The company thanked drivers for their contributions but did not provide further details about the reasons for its departure.

The Nigeria Democratic Congress said it had not nominated 10 people published by the Independent National Electoral Commission for the 2027 Anambra State House of Assembly elections. The party said it had not submitted their Form EC9E documents and called for an electronic audit of INEC’s nomination portal.
