Every team joining Australia in the World Cup Round of 32

The FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage is set, with Australia advancing to the Round of 32 to face Egypt. The match is scheduled for Saturday at 4 am AEST in Arlington, Texas.

This year's tournament features a record 48 teams, an expansion from previous World Cups. The format allows the top two teams from each group to progress to the Round of 32, joined by the eight best third-placed teams based on points. From this stage onward, the competition becomes a straight knockout, where teams must win to advance.

Australia secured their spot in the knockout rounds with one win, one draw, and one loss in the group stage. They will be looking to make history by achieving their first-ever victory in a World Cup knockout match.

Several other nations have also progressed. Co-hosts Mexico topped their group undefeated, while South Africa reached the knockout stages for the first time. Switzerland and Canada advanced from Group B, with Canada celebrating their first World Cup win. Brazil and Morocco moved on from Group C, and the United States led Group D, which also included Australia and Paraguay. Germany, Ivory Coast, and Ecuador advanced from Group E.
