Ex-Delta Speaker Ochei Dumps APC

Victor Ochei, a former Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, has officially left Nigeria's All Progressives Congress (APC). Ochei confirmed his resignation in a letter dated May 8, 2026, addressed to the APC Ward 4 chairman in Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State.

His media aide, Austin Edemodu, stated that the former lawmaker's decision followed careful reflection and consultations. Ochei joined the APC in 2016 and highlighted his contributions to the party's growth through grassroots mobilization and political engagement across the state. "Together with many committed party faithfuls, we expanded the party’s reach, deepened its structures, mobilised support across communities, and worked tirelessly to give the party relevance and visibility within our political environment," he said.
