Ex-Gombe PDP Governorship Candidate Leaves Party and Backs APC’s Gwamna

Ahmed Yayari, a former Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Gombe State, has left the party and declared support for All Progressives Congress candidate Dr. Jamil Gwamna.

Yayari, who also served as the PDP’s national treasurer, said he would deploy his political experience, networks and grassroots structures to support Gwamna’s bid for governor. He praised Gwamna’s character, political experience, vision and leadership capacity.

Gwamna has distinguished himself as a responsible politician whose commitment goes beyond personal political ambition.

Yayari described Gwamna as a politician committed to supporting people and contributing to the development of society. He also cited Gwamna’s membership in a prominent family whose contributions to Gombe’s development had extended across generations.

He is a leader with a clear mission and vision centred on supporting humanity, empowering people and contributing meaningfully to the development of society.

Gwamna welcomed Yayari and his supporters into the APC. He called Yayari “a pillar of grassroots mobilisation and an experienced political strategist,” saying his service in important positions from the state level to the PDP’s national leadership would add value to the party’s campaign.

Preparations are underway for the formal reception of Yayari and his supporters into the APC, according to a statement issued by Ibrahim Shawai, a spokesperson for Gwamna.
