Ex-Hsinchu Mayor Lin Chih-chien Cleared in Baseball Stadium Case

A lengthy four-year investigation into the controversial Hsinchu City Baseball Stadium project has concluded with prosecutors deciding not to indict former Mayor Lin Chih-chien. The Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office announced its findings, clearing Lin and other public officials, as well as the contractor Juh Jia Construction, of alleged corruption and violations of the Government Procurement Act.

The case centered on accusations of irregularities in the general contracting of the stadium's construction during Lin's tenure as mayor.
