Ex-Kano PDP deputy gov candidate defects to APC

Yusuf Dambatta, who was the People’s Democratic Party's (PDP) deputy governorship candidate in Kano State during the 2023 general elections, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). Dambatta announced his departure from the PDP on Sunday, stating that his decision followed extensive consultations with his leaders, political associates, supporters, and stakeholders.

I hereby formally announce my decision to join the All Progressives Congress. This decision was taken after careful consideration and wide consultations with my leaders, political associates, supporters, and stakeholders.

In his statement, Dambatta expressed optimism that the APC platform will better enable him to contribute to the progress of Kano State and Nigeria. He was particularly motivated by what he described as the growing spirit of inclusiveness within the APC and the party's dedication to the well-being of its citizens. He believes this move will offer him a more effective avenue to serve the people and advance the state and nation.

Dambatta also conveyed his admiration for the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and the 'Kano First Agenda.' He noted that the governor's agenda demonstrates a clear commitment to good governance, human capital development, infrastructure renewal, and the overall advancement of Kano State. Dambatta reaffirmed his dedication to serving the people, fostering unity, and pursuing policies that promote peace, prosperity, and sustainable development.
