Ex-Miss North Carolina USA vows legal action, claims 'cancel culture' attack

Less than a week after being dethroned as Miss North Carolina USA, Brittany Boltinhouse is preparing to fight back legally. Organizers A Blaize Productions revoked the title from the 27-year-old, citing alleged racially offensive social media posts made between 2017 and 2019.

That investigation is national in scope, sweeping in reach and focused on one objective: uncovering and presenting the full truth behind what appears to be another troubling example of cancel culture directed at a young woman because of her deeply held religious convictions and publicly expressed political beliefs.

However, Boltinhouse and her legal team contend the decision was baseless. Her lawyer, Patrick Mincey, described the revocation as "wrongful and unjustified." In a video statement, Mincey announced his firm is conducting a broad investigation, which he characterized as an effort to uncover the "full truth behind what appears to be another troubling example of cancel culture directed at a young woman because of her deeply held religious convictions and publicly expressed political beliefs."

Mincey further asserted that his investigation has uncovered evidence indicating pageant officials acknowledged a lack of legitimate grounds for stripping Boltinhouse of her crown. He highlighted her background as the daughter of immigrants, calling her "the very best of the American dream."

The brand does not tolerate racism, homophobia, transphobia nor language that strips any person of their dignity.

Thom Brodeur, president and CEO of the Miss USA organization, issued a separate statement affirming the brand's stance against racism, homophobia, and transphobia. He noted that Boltinhouse would release her own statement soon. Boltinhouse herself has suggested her conservative Christian beliefs and political stance were the real reasons for losing her title. First runner-up Myla Hadley has inherited the Miss North Carolina USA title.
