Ex-Mossad chief says Israeli operatives visited Iran’s Fordow nuclear site ‘many times’

Former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen disclosed that Israeli intelligence operatives conducted numerous visits to Iran's heavily fortified Fordow nuclear facility. These clandestine operations were undertaken to gather crucial intelligence regarding the underground site's infrastructure and operational capacity.

Cohen, speaking at the Galilee Conference, did not specify the exact timing of these visits or identify the personnel involved. However, he indicated that the operatives toured the facility to gain a comprehensive understanding of its layout and capabilities. The Fordow facility, situated deep underground near Qom, is recognized as one of Iran's most secure nuclear installations due to its hardened construction.

Cohen also addressed Iran's current uranium stockpile, noting that its enrichment level of 60 percent is "still far from a bomb." While this level is significantly higher than that used for civilian nuclear purposes, it remains below the approximately 90 percent enrichment typically associated with weapons-grade uranium.
