Ex-Police Officer Faces Immediate Trial for Murder in Milan

Milan prosecutors are seeking an immediate trial for Carmelo Cinturrino, a former police officer from the Mecenate station, in connection with the premeditated murder of 28-year-old Abderrahim Mansouri. Mansouri was fatally shot in the head from approximately 30 meters away in the Rogoredo woods on January 26.

The request for an immediate trial bypasses the preliminary hearing stage. This legal move focuses solely on the murder charge against Cinturrino. The prosecution aims to expedite the legal process for this specific accusation.

However, a broader investigation involving Cinturrino and six other colleagues remains active. This ongoing inquiry, coordinated by prosecutor Marcello Viola and district attorney Giovanni Tarzia, is being conducted by the Mobile Squad of the Police. The group faces over 30 charges, including drug dealing, extortion, and illegal arrests, indicating a wider pattern of alleged criminal activity.
