Ex-prosecutor Francia Medina to hear verdict in trial over 88 million lempiras

The Fifth Chamber of the San Pedro Sula Sentencing Court has scheduled the verdict reading for the trial against former prosecutor Francia Sofía Medina Martínez for Wednesday at 9:00 AM. Medina Martínez faces accusations from the Public Ministry of Honduras for allegedly misappropriating over 88 million lempiras, funds reportedly held as evidence in the vaults of the Central Bank of Honduras (BCH).

The case also includes charges related to the alleged falsification of public documents concerning the handling and withdrawal of the funds under investigation.
