Executive Administration to auction deep-sea fishing vessel in Pingtung; buyer must first pay NT$6.03 million fine

The Pingtung branch of Taiwan's Executive Execution Administration is set to auction the deep-sea fishing vessel De Hong Fa Hao on August 4. The auction, scheduled for 3 PM at the Pingtung branch's auction room, is part of a broader initiative to enforce payment of fines related to public law monetary obligations.

The vessel, with a gross tonnage of 55.65 tons and a net tonnage of 16.7 tons, measures 18.4 meters in length and 27.7 meters in total length. Constructed from fiberglass-reinforced plastic, it is equipped with a 6-cylinder diesel engine. The De Hong Fa Hao was registered on November 1, 1992, and is licensed for tuna longline fishing. Its current location is Yanpu Fishing Harbor, and its fishing license is valid until April 15, 2025.

Crucially, any potential buyer must first settle the outstanding fine of approximately NT$6.03 million (around $185,000 USD) imposed for violations of the distant water fisheries act, along with other associated costs, before the ownership transfer can be processed. This requirement underscores the administration's commitment to enforcing fishery regulations.

In addition to the fishing vessel, the Pingtung branch will also auction several real estate properties located in Zhutian, Taiwu, and Hengchun townships in Pingtung County. These auctions are part of a special project by the Ministry of Justice's Executive Execution Administration to strengthen the enforcement of vehicle-related taxes and fines.
