Exiled Prince Reza Pahlavi Says Any Deal Preserving Iran's Regime Is Doomed to Fail

Exiled Iranian crown prince Reza Pahlavi declared that any international agreement that sustains the Islamic Republic or its governing elements is doomed to fail. He asserted that the Iranian people would not accept such an outcome. Pahlavi conveyed these views during a meeting with members of the UK House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee. Discussions centered on the internal situation in Iran, the government's treatment of its citizens, and the necessity of prioritizing the Iranian people in British policy toward Tehran. He contended that engaging with the current Iranian leadership is both morally and strategically flawed, citing the government's alleged responsibility for the deaths of over 40,000 Iranians during recent unrest. He advised international policymakers to focus on supporting the aspirations of ordinary Iranians rather than pursuing arrangements that uphold the existing political system. Pahlavi expressed confidence in the Iranian people's ability to bring about political change, asserting that the country's future will be determined by its citizens, irrespective of international support. "With or without international support, the people of Iran will overthrow this regime. Freedom will come to Iran," he proclaimed.
