Expelled DF Member Claims He Tried to Retract Criticism

Allan Blak, who was expelled from the Danish People's Party (DF) on Friday, asserts that he tried to retract his critical comments made to Jyllands-Posten before the interview went to print. Blak, a local council member in Lolland Municipality, shared this account with TV2 Øst.

According to Blak, DF party secretary Kenneth Kristensen Berth told him to withdraw his statements. Berth allegedly provided Blak with the journalist's email address and instructed him to retract his remarks. Blak claims he emailed the journalist to retract his comments, but the journalist responded that the remarks would be published because they were on the record.

Blak stated he forwarded the journalist's response to Kenneth Kristensen Berth but received no further communication. Danish People's Party has declined to comment on Blak's statements to Ritzau. The interview published by Jyllands-Posten featured Blak criticizing the DF's new immigration profile as too harsh and expressing dissatisfaction with the party's strong central leadership. In the interview, Blak had predicted his potential expulsion from the party.
