Experience Joseon royal cultural heritage at the Busan Museum

The Busan Museum is inviting elementary school students to step into the world of the Joseon Dynasty with its summer educational program, 'Joseon Royal Login - World of Records and Symbols.' Running from July 30 to August 2, the program aims to deepen understanding of royal cultural heritage through interactive learning and family activities.

Designed to be both educational and engaging, the program features various hands-on experiences. Participants will delve into the intricacies of Joseon royal record-keeping, including studying world-recognized records like the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty. Sessions will also cover royal symbols such as portraits (eojin) and royal seals (eobo).

Within the exhibition halls, students will have the opportunity to observe key artifacts, including the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty, royal portraits, and the Donggwoldo (a painting depicting the palaces of the eastern part of the capital). Activity sheets will guide participants in discovering the records and symbols within these artifacts, fostering a deeper appreciation for their historical significance and value.

A unique highlight of the program is a stamp-making activity. Using royal symbols like turtles, peonies, sun, and moon, motifs often found on royal seals, children can create their own personalized stamps, offering a tangible connection to the Joseon royal legacy. The program is free for families with elementary school children and requires advance registration on a first-come, first-served basis.
