Explosion in Moscow kills three

An explosion at a restaurant in central Moscow has resulted in three fatalities and 21 injuries. The incident took place at a summer cafe located on the ground floor of a skyscraper on Kudrinskaya Square around 8 p.m. local time on Saturday evening.

According to Russia's National Antiterrorism Committee (NAK), the explosion was caused by a homemade bomb. Reports suggest an unidentified woman attempted to bring the explosive device into the venue, but it detonated when a security guard stopped her. The victims include the security guard, the woman, and a guest at the restaurant, which was reportedly booked for a private event.

Emergency services, ambulances, and an investigative team from the Interior Ministry were dispatched to the scene. Streets surrounding the location were cordoned off as investigators and forensic technicians began their work.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation by authorities.
