Explosion injures three in Hidalgo building; one hospitalized

An explosion rocked a building in Progreso de Obregón, Hidalgo, early Saturday, leaving three people injured. The blast, heard around 2 a.m., caused alarm among residents who alerted authorities. Emergency personnel responded and found three individuals with injuries, identified by their initials as F. P. C., E. R. M., and N. M. H.

Two of the injured, F. P. C. and E. R. M., refused medical transport to a hospital. The third victim, N. M. H., required hospitalization and was taken to a regional medical center for treatment.

Security forces quickly cordoned off the area as part of an operation. However, the device believed to have caused the explosion was not immediately found. Elements of the National Defense are securing the perimeter while investigations into the incident are underway. Neither the Secretariat of Security nor the Attorney General's Office or the Attorney General's Office have issued an official report on the explosion.
