Explosion on Docked Rubber Boat in Turkish Marina Injures One

A powerful explosion rocked a marina in Yalıkavak Mahallesi, Turkey, on Tuesday morning, injuring one person. The blast occurred around 11:30 a.m. on a 8-meter-long rubber boat docked at the marina, which was undergoing cleaning and maintenance work.

The explosion's force caused the boat's throttle to engage, sending the vessel speeding towards the pier, which it then struck. A fire that erupted on the boat was quickly extinguished by bystanders before it could spread. Emergency services, including health, fire, police, and coast guard teams, were dispatched to the scene following the incident.

One individual, who was on the boat at the time of the explosion, suffered burns to various parts of their body. They were transported by ambulance to a private hospital in the district for treatment, where their condition is being monitored. Security teams conducted an examination of the site, and the rubber boat was subsequently moved to a dry dock area within the marina after safety precautions were implemented. An investigation into the cause of the explosion is currently underway.
