Expo Rural 2026 to feature extensive training and business agenda

Argentina's renowned Expo Rural is set to open its doors for the 138th edition in Palermo, running from July 25 to August 4 under the slogan "The countryside unites us." Organized by the Argentine Rural Society (SRA) and La Rural S.A., the event promises a comprehensive agenda of training, business, and cultural activities, highlighting the nation's agricultural prowess.

This year's expo will showcase 2,580 registered animals, a 10% increase from the previous year, representing more than a hundred breeds. A notable highlight is the return of poultry exhibitions after a four-year hiatus due to sanitary concerns. The event will also host the First World Congress of Hampshire Down, gathering breeders from various countries.

Business and networking opportunities will be abundant, with 40 livestock auctions scheduled, accessible in person, on television, and via streaming. The Agro Business Center will offer specialized programming, including international genetics rounds and a new Agro Financing Center designed to help producers nationwide access credit. The automotive industry will also feature prominently with 4x4 demonstrations.

President Javier Milei is slated to attend the traditional inauguration ceremony on July 26. The expo's agenda includes academic sessions, colloquiums, the traditional Field Mass, and an Interreligious Encounter. Military bands will perform daily, and the closing event will feature an Argentine Equestrian Art presentation followed by a charity auction for the Soldier Foundation. The Argentine Angus Association will also be a major participant, presenting 500 animals from 140 exhibitors.
