FAAN Management Retreat Aims to Promote Efficiency and Sustainable Growth

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has commenced its 2026 Management Retreat, a three-day event designed to consolidate achievements and institutionalize sustainable growth. The retreat, officially opened by FAAN's Managing Director and Chief Executive, Olubunmi Kuku, on June 5, 2026, convenes the senior management team. Its primary objectives are to evaluate the Authority's ongoing transformation journey, bolster institutional capacity, and synchronize strategic priorities with emerging global aviation trends and industry best practices.

The first day of the retreat centered on critical discussions aimed at positioning FAAN for future success through sustained reforms. Key topics included an examination of global and African airport development trends, strategies for enhancing process standardization and performance management across Nigeria's airports, and the advancement of infrastructure modernization and operational efficiency. These discussions are crucial for navigating the evolving aviation landscape.

Henry Agbebire, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, stated that the retreat also serves as a platform for a comprehensive review of progress made under the MD/CE's transformative pillars. Emphasis is placed on embedding sustainable growth, operational excellence, innovation, and long-term value creation throughout the Authority's airport operations.
