FAAN promises enhanced Ebola preparedness at airports

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has taken proactive steps to bolster its defenses against the Ebola Virus Disease, demonstrating a commitment to safeguarding public health and ensuring the safety of air travel. In response to the recent outbreak in Central Africa, FAAN has assured travelers and stakeholders that robust preventive measures are now in place across all international airports.

This enhanced preparedness involves close collaboration with key agencies such as Port Health Services and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC). The focus is on intensifying surveillance and monitoring of passengers, with particular attention paid to those arriving from regions identified as high-risk. This meticulous approach includes screening passengers for Ebola symptoms, with any suspected cases being promptly isolated and subjected to further health checks according to established protocols.
