The social media accounts of former Argentine Culture Minister Pablo Avelluto have been suspended across major platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter). Avelluto confirmed that his X account, which had over 50,000 followers, is also suspended. He stated, "I have made all the complaints and so far, nothing. I cannot access it, and there are no explanations or reasons."

Avelluto expressed frustration and suspicion, noting that he had been hacked weeks prior. "At first, I didn't want to get paranoid, but now I suspect there is something more. It's a bit desperate," he admitted. The former minister, an active user and critic of the current government, described the responses to his appeals as "automatic, acknowledgments of receipt."

He believes the suspension goes beyond typical hacking aimed at financial gain. "They can't get money from you, they can only silence you and force you to start over," Avelluto said, reflecting on the nature of such attacks in an era of sophisticated artificial intelligence. He finds it increasingly difficult to understand what is happening in these cases.

In response to the suspensions, a notable group of intellectuals, journalists, and politicians, including Margarita Stolbizer, Jorge Asís, and Romina Manguel, have publicly demanded the restoration of Avelluto's accounts on X. The issue gained traction, becoming a trending topic. Even users who had previously been blocked by Avelluto on X joined the calls for his accounts to be reinstated.
