Family of missing Venezuelan presenter Yorgelys Delgado urges calm amid rescue efforts

The daughter of Venezuelan children's television host Yorgelys Delgado has appealed for calm and discretion, strongly refuting rumors of her mother's passing after a series of earthquakes devastated parts of the country. Miranda Mijares, Delgado's daughter, asked for prudence in information dissemination as rescue teams continue their search amidst the rubble of her mother's apartment in La Guaira.

"On behalf of Yorgelys Delgado's family, we want to deeply thank you for the expressions of solidarity, the good wishes, and the faith placed in the continued search for my mom. We remain in constant prayer, fully trusting that God will grant us the miracle of seeing her again," Mijares stated via her Instagram stories. She emphasized the family's unwavering hope for Delgado's safe return.

Mijares also made a public plea for collective responsibility, citing the detrimental impact of false news on the family. She urged the public to avoid disseminating unverified data that could hinder the efforts of security forces and rescue workers. "We earnestly ask for respect for our privacy and prudence. We request that you avoid spreading information or news that is not duly confirmed," she stressed.

According to reports, rescue groups are maintaining technical monitoring of the apartment structure in an attempt to locate Delgado. While her national identification card and other personal belongings were reportedly found at the site, the actress herself is still unaccounted for. The family continues to hold onto hope for a miracle amidst the challenging circumstances.
