Garner recounted extreme situations, including paparazzi running red lights, driving on lawns, and creating chaotic scenes that endangered others. She stated there was no privacy, with photographers constantly present. Simple errands like going to school or visiting a doctor became fraught with peril. The intensity of the situation was so severe that even hiding in a maintenance worker's truck to reach a park did not guarantee privacy.

One of the most painful aspects for Garner was the effect on her children. She shared an incident where her daughter was asked to stop attending soccer games because the swarm of photographers created a "zoo" for other families. Garner also described heartbreaking moments, such as trying to take a sick child to the pediatrician only to be blocked by a wall of photographers, and children being knocked down by paparazzi eager for a shot. The family could not visit the beach for years until the pandemic allowed them to experience a simple outing while masked.
