FANLYC sets record with more than 72,000 laps at 27th Relay for Life

More than 72,000 laps were completed during the 27th Relay for Life, a 24-hour event organized by Panama’s Foundation of Friends of Children with Leukemia and Cancer, known as FANLYC.

Held at Cinta Costera 3, the charity event brought together corporate teams, institutions, community groups and individual participants. Their combined effort produced a record total, exceeding the marks set in previous editions.

The relay raises money for childhood cancer treatment and seeks to increase awareness of the challenges faced by children and adolescents diagnosed with the disease, as well as by their families. Funds generated through lap counts and sponsorships directly support FANLYC programs providing diagnostic assistance, medicines, transportation and accommodation across Panama.

Delegations from different sectors took part, including TVN Media, which attended in support of the cause and its sponsored child, Keisha. Cultural and recreational activities continued throughout the 24-hour circuit, with murga and tamborito performances, zumba sessions and activities for runners and walkers.
