Fantino expels commentator Carrasco live over sexist remark to journalist

Argentine journalist Alejandro Fantino abruptly ended a live broadcast segment by expelling commentator Juan Ramón Carrasco following a sexist remark directed at journalist Sofía Romano. The incident occurred during the program "Llenos de Mística" when Carrasco, an Uruguayan ex-footballer and coach, made a derogatory comment about Romano.

Carrasco's comment, "Se ve que está mal atendida" (It seems she is poorly attended), came after Romano requested he return to analyzing Spain's World Cup victory over Argentina instead of telling misogynistic jokes. Romano, visibly angered, accused Carrasco of being "vulgar" and breaking his word to be respectful.

Fantino, reacting with visible frustration, declared he no longer wished to share airtime with Carrasco. "Out of respect, I stayed quiet, I thought about it. Do what you want. I, being respectful, am going to leave. I cannot share this space. You said something stupid, something outrageous, you are out of line," Fantino stated before Carrasco's removal.

Carrasco accepted the expulsion and offered an apology to Romano before leaving. Romano, however, insisted he review the broadcast to realize his words were not misinterpreted. The exchange highlighted a tense moment on air, leading to the commentator's swift removal due to his inappropriate and sexist remarks.
