Far-Right Commentator Milo Yiannopoulos Deported from U.S. After Visa Overstay

Far-right political commentator Milo Yiannopoulos has been deported from the United States, according to U.S. officials. The British national was arrested by immigration authorities on Thursday and subsequently returned to his home country on Friday.

Yiannopoulos had legally entered the U.S. in May 2019. However, he reportedly overstayed his visa. An immigration judge issued a final order for his removal on July 22 after Yiannopoulos failed to appear for a scheduled immigration hearing.

Reports indicated Yiannopoulos was in New Orleans in connection with a concert by the artist formerly known as Kanye West, also known as Ye, with whom Yiannopoulos has collaborated professionally. Yiannopoulos, who has previously been banned from Twitter for hateful conduct, is known for his provocative stances on feminism, Islam, and immigration. He has also been a vocal supporter of ICE's enforcement efforts, having previously advocated for widespread ICE checkpoints and immediate deportations for individuals unable to prove legal status.
