Far-Right Extremist Liebich Extradited from Czech Republic to Germany

Convicted far-right extremist Marla Svenja Liebich has been extradited from the Czech Republic to Germany. Upon arrival at the German border, she was transported to the women's prison in Chemnitz. Oberstaatsanwalt Dennis Cernota confirmed that Liebich "fully cooperated" upon arrival at the correctional facility, and no incidents occurred.

Liebich was scheduled to begin her sentence in August 2025 but fled before reporting to prison. She was apprehended in the Czech Republic in April of this year. A court in Pilsen, Czech Republic, ruled in early June that Liebich should be handed over to German authorities, a decision later upheld by the Prague High Court after rejecting her appeals.

Her placement in the Chemnitz women's prison is pending a decision by the facility's administration. Liebich had expressed fear of being placed in a German men's prison, which was a factor in her flight. The Chemnitz facility is the closest women's prison to her registered address.

In July 2023, Liebich, then identified as Sven and convicted as a man, received a one-year and six-month prison sentence without parole from the Halle District Court for incitement, defamation, and insult. The legal process is ongoing regarding the potential reversal of her gender and name change from Sven to Marla Svenja, which critics have called a provocation and an abuse of self-determination laws. Legal steps were initiated in December 2025 by the Saalekreis district to correct her registration.
