Fashola an outstanding governor, leader, Tinubu celebrates ex-minister at 63

President Bola Tinubu has celebrated former Lagos State Governor and ex-Minister of Works, Power, and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, on his 63rd birthday, hailing him as an outstanding administrator. Tinubu lauded Fashola's significant contributions to governance and national development, stating that his legacy is enduring.

In a statement released on Sunday, the President highlighted Fashola's leadership, professionalism, and dedication to progressive governance. He described the former minister as a patriotic Nigerian and accomplished legal practitioner whose public service has left a lasting impact, particularly in Lagos State. Tinubu also commended Fashola's integrity and intellectual depth in nation-building.

Tinubu recalled Fashola's tenure as his Chief of Staff from 2003 to 2006, before Fashola succeeded him as governor of Lagos State from 2007 to 2015. The President noted that Fashola built upon progressive governance through landmark reforms in infrastructure, transportation, security, education, healthcare, environmental management, and public sector administration. He asserted that Fashola's commitment to excellence transformed Lagos into a model of innovation and sustainable urban development.
