Fast & Furious roller coaster to open at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2027

Universal Studios Hollywood is set to unveil a new thrill ride for fans of the blockbuster "Fast & Furious" franchise. The "Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift" roller coaster will be a high-speed outdoor attraction located in the Upper Lot of the theme park.

The ride promises an immersive experience, with the queue area designed to resemble a brick garage and featuring a mural honoring Dominic Toretto. The trains themselves will be replicas of iconic vehicles from the movies, including Toretto's Dodge Charger, Brian O'Conner's Nissan Skyline GT-R and Toyota Supra, and Han's Mazda RX-7.

"Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift" will boast a 1,250-meter track length, with each four-person car capable of 360-degree rotations to simulate drifting. Riders can expect to reach speeds of up to 116 kilometers per hour, with a dramatic 51.8-meter vertical peak, equivalent to a 17-story drop.

Initially slated for a summer 2026 opening, Universal Studios Hollywood has updated the timeline, with the roller coaster now expected to debut sometime in 2027. No specific opening date has been announced.
