Father Holding Daughter Hostage in Ankara Neutralized, Child Rescued

A tense hostage situation in Ankara's Etimesgut district concluded with the successful rescue of a 3-year-old girl. The incident unfolded in an apartment building after the father, whose identity has not yet been released, reportedly got into an argument with his wife.

During the dispute, the man allegedly took his young daughter hostage, brandishing a knife. Concerned citizens spotted the father holding the child with a knife visible from the apartment window and immediately contacted the 112 Emergency Call Center. This alert prompted a swift response from law enforcement, fire department, and medical teams.

Authorities established a wide security perimeter around the scene and attempted to persuade the father to release his daughter. When negotiations failed, special forces operatives intervened and successfully neutralized the suspect. The child was rescued and placed under observation, while the father was taken to the hospital. An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
