Father of Rojin Kabaiş Visits Gülistan Doku's Family, Offers Support Amidst Ongoing Investigation

The quest for justice continues as Nizamettin Kabaiş, the father of Rojin Kabaiş, a university student found deceased two years ago, has visited Tunceli to stand in solidarity with the Doku family. Gülistan Doku, also a university student, disappeared and her body was found 18 days later, an incident that has led to a protracted investigation involving the arrest of 10 individuals.

Kabaiş, who has endured his own two-year ordeal since his daughter's death, shared his suspicions about the university rector's involvement in Rojin's case. He drew parallels to the Doku family's suspicions, noting the suspicious circumstances such as the deletion of camera footage and the rector's unusual behavior, including entering the autopsy room. Kabaiş stated, "In our case, I am very suspicious of the rector. He is a relative, he has a hand in it, I know it."

We entrusted our child to you. You should have said, 'These are our children, our daughters.' They didn't fight at all. He never said, 'She was my student, what happened to her?'

Both families are united in their demand for truth and accountability. Kabaiş emphasized his trust in the state and the Ministry of Justice, particularly referencing the Justice Minister's words about not allowing the perception that the powerful are untouchable. He appealed to the Governor of Van for help, urging for a thorough investigation into his daughter's death, just as the Doku family is seeking clarity on Gülistan's fate. The deletion of camera footage and the presence of DNA from two unidentified males in Gülistan's case remain critical points of investigation.

Gülistan Doku's mother, Bedriye Doku, echoed the sentiment, demanding the harshest punishment for those responsible and expressing hope that justice will be served, similar to how a prosecutor named Ebru Cansu helped solve her daughter's case. The families' shared struggle highlights the deep-seated issues of accountability and transparency in cases involving young women, resonating deeply within Turkish society.
