Pakistan has secured its first medal at the 2026 Commonwealth Games, with Fatima Zahra claiming a bronze in women's boxing. Zahra, who had already guaranteed herself a medal by reaching the semifinals of the 60kg event, received the bronze after her defeat to Canada's Marie-Bathoul Al-Ahmadieh.

Under the competition's format, losing semifinalists are awarded the bronze medal. This marks a significant achievement for Pakistan in the ongoing games.

Meanwhile, in the highly anticipated javelin final, Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem did not secure a medal. While the focus was on the India-Pakistan rivalry between Neeraj Chopra and Nadeem, it was Sri Lanka's Rumesh Pathirage who dominated the event with a stellar throw of 89.75 meters. Nadeem's best effort of 77.41 meters placed him among the four competitors eliminated after the initial three rounds. Chopra secured second place with a throw of 85.83 meters.
