Fauda's fifth season to premiere on Netflix September 8

The acclaimed Israeli series "Fauda" is set to premiere its fifth season on Netflix worldwide on September 8, following its initial release in Israel in May. Viewers in 190 countries will have access to the new episodes, which feature a multilingual cast and subtitles.

The series, co-created by Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz, has achieved global success since its 2015 debut, even reaching top 10 charts in Arab nations. However, the production of the fifth season was significantly impacted by the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023. Creators Raz and Issacharoff scrapped initial scripts to incorporate the new reality of the ongoing conflict.

Two episodes in the fifth season are dedicated to the October 7 massacre, depicting violence so graphic that they were shown with viewer warnings in Israel and offered for free online. Issacharoff told Deadline that the season aims to pose difficult questions about the worth of revenge and the perpetuation of violence. "Is the revenge worth it? Is continuing this very endless cycle of bloodshed worth it? Where is it taking you?" he asked, suggesting these are central themes. The new season also features French star Melanie Laurent alongside original cast members Doron Ben-David and Yaakov Zada-Daniel.
